Shreya Ghoshal Pays Tribute To ‘First Teacher’ Lata Mangeshkar On Her Death Anniversary

It has been four years since Lata Mangeshkar passed away. Remembering the legendary singer, Shreya Ghoshal paid a heartfelt tribute. Taking to social media,Shreya Ghoshalpenned an emotional note.

Shreya took a trip down memory lane and uploaded pictures of her meeting with Lata Mangeshkar alongside a few throwback pictures.

Sharing the pictures, Shreya wrote, “Lata Didi, your voice was my first teacher and remains my lifelong inspiration. Every note I sing carries your blessings, your grace and the values you stood for.”
She continued, “I will always be grateful, always indebted for the music, the guidance and the love you gave the world. You live on in every melody. With folded hands and a full heart.”

Shreya Ghoshal Recalls First Meeting with Lata Mangeshkar
During the latest episode of Indian Idol, Shreya Ghoshal recalled her first meeting with Lata Mangeshkar. “Dear Lata Didi, like every singer, I too consider you my idol. Once it so happened that I was recording somewhere, and in that studio, Lata Didi also came to record. As soon as I came to know this, I was so scared that my focus was not at all, and the recordist only said, ‘Let’s do the recording tomorrow; go and meet Didi today.’”

Shreya Ghoshal remembered, “I ran to Lata Didi and wanted to say a lot, but before that, she said, ‘Shreya, I have heard your songs; you sing very well.’ So the first meeting with her was not a meeting; it was a darshan of Lata Didi for me.”

During the special episode, Shreya Ghoshal decided to pay homage to the late maestro with a soulful rendition of the iconic song Yeh Sama Hai Pyaar Ka from the movie Jab Jab Phool Khile.

On the death anniversary of Lata Mangeshkar, several celebrities from the entertainment industry decided to remember the ‘Nightingale of India’ with heartfelt social media posts. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, veteran singer Kumar Sanu and others remembered Lata Mangeshkar on this day and paid their respects.
