A man’s careless decision could have ended fatally when he attempted to board a moving Vande Bharat train. The incident reportedly took place at a railway station where the Kanpur-Delhi Vande Bharat was
departing.
The moment was captured on camera and the video of it has now surfaced online where it has caught widespread attention. The clip shows a man running on the platform when the train began to move. His desperate attempt to board ends in a fall that could have been fatal.
Man Falls While Trying To Board Moving Kanpur-Delhi Vande Bharat
The video begins with the man running along the platform in an effort to catch the departing train. He is seen clinging to the loco pilot’s cabin as its gate appears to be open. But he loses balance and falls onto the platform while trying to get on board.
A person recording the video can be heard warning him, saying, “Aree gir jaoge, gir jaoge (Hey, you will fall).”
Fortunately, the loco pilot notices him and immediately stops the train. Fortunately, the man survives the fall.
Sharp Criticism From Viewers
As the clip spread, users reacted sharply to the man’s actions. Many expressed anger over what they called irresponsible and reckless behaviour.
One user commented, “Ticket can be bought but class and civic sense can’t be bought.”
Another joked, “Indian Railways: Jahaan 50 per cent ki yatra platform pe hi khatam ho jaati hai (Indian Railways: Where 50 per cent of the journey ends on the platform itself).”
“We Indians are always in a hurry but still late everywhere,” someone else remarked.
A person added sarcastically, “Ye sahi hai agar darwaje band hai to loco pilot ke cabin me hi ghus jaao (Great idea. If the doors are closed, just enter through the loco pilot’s cabin.)
“Why can’t these people come early rather than risking their lives?” an individual questioned.
“He should be fined,” a viewer demanded.
Someone added, “Ek hath se train rok di.”
“Plot twist: Bhai ne pairo se train rok di (Plot twist: The guy stopped the train with his feet),” “Kuch paise ki ticket ke liye apni jaan de do (Give up your life for a cheap ticket)” and “Indians don’t deserve any development” were some other reactions.
Why Boarding A Moving Vande Bharat Is Extremely Dangerous
It is important to note that Vande Bharat Express trains are equipped with an advanced, automatic, centralised sliding-plug door system. The doors lock automatically before the train starts moving which is similar to metro systems, to ensure passenger safety.
These doors are operated by the guard or loco pilot and are designed to open and close quickly due to short halts of just one to two minutes. Attempting to board once the train starts moving can be life-threatening.
