Virat Kohli needed just 74 balls on Sunday (September 27) to score a century for India in the first ODI against the West Indies. The hundred by the right-handed batter in the series opener at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram has helped him equal Sunil Gavaskar’s record for scoring the most international centuries against the Caribbean team.
Gavaskar played 38 matches across formats against the West Indies during his 16-year-long career from 1971 to 1987 and scored 13 centuries. On the other hand, Kohli also now has 13 centuries to his credit in 74 international matches against the West Indies.
