Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s comeback film Maa Inti Bangaaram continues to enjoy a successful run at the box office, and now fans have another reason to celebrate. At the film’s success event, the makers confirmed that the story isn’t over yet.
A sequel to Maa Inti Bangaaram has officially been announced. The surprise came during the film’s success meet in Vizag, where writer Raj Nidimoru, who is also Samantha’s husband, shared the exciting news with fans.
Before making the announcement, Raj asked the audience if they wanted a second part. As the crowd cheered loudly, he revealed, “I already have an idea in my mind. The same team will work on it. For the first time, I am inspired to make another part. It will have double the fun and double the excitement.
I will come back and tell you more about it later.”
Raj also spoke about how special Maa Inti Bangaaram has been for him. He said the film earned him more love and appreciation than some of his earlier blockbuster projects, including Stree and The Family Man, adding that this story “hit home.”
Directed by Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, alongside Gulshan Devaiah, Sreemukhi and Diganth Manchale. The film has received positive reviews, with Samantha’s performance winning praise from both critics and audiences.
Set in the 1980s, the film follows Swarna, played by Samantha, a woman who marries a doctor despite opposition from his family. As she slowly earns their acceptance, her past comes back to change everything. The emotional family drama has struck a chord with audiences, especially women.
Produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himanshu under the Tra La La Pictures banner, the film has emerged as a major success. It collected around ₹35 crore in India during its first week and crossed ₹50 crore at the worldwide box office, while also becoming the highest-opening women-led film.
Maa Inti Bangaaram also marks Samantha’s return to the big screen after a long break. The actress recently announced her pregnancy and shared that she will be taking a maternity break. Samantha and Raj tied the knot at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December. The couple has previously worked together on The Family Man Season 2, Citadel: Honey Bunny and Subham.
