Konkona Sen Sharma is winning hearts with her latest role as ACP Sanyukta in the web show Search: The Naina Murder Case. While the mystery around the case kept viewers on edge, they also loved her character
as a police officer struggling to manage work and family. The actress plays a homicide detective who is simultaneously dealing with being a mother to a teen and attempting to save her marriage. In an interview, Konkona talks about how realistic the role was for her and why she found it extremely relatable.
The series highlights how the duty of balancing work and family falls more on a woman. Konkona agreed with the view in her interview with Hindustan Times and said, “It’s very normalised in a way. That aspect of it is something that I have also dealt with for many years – the balance of handling things at home and at work. In fact, I found playing Sanyukta quite liberating because she was just not handling things at home.”
According to the actress, finding that balance is an ongoing process that she is currently working on mastering. Kokona said, “Sometimes you fail, or on other days you succeed, or maybe fail less. That’s a nice way of putting it.”
