Star India batter Sarfaraz Khan’s father, Naushad, who has played a key role in his sons’ flourish in Indian cricket, followed his elder one in his weight loss journey, losing a whopping 38kg to turn up
fit. Naushad, who has been instrumental in shaping the careers of both Sarfaraz and his brother Musheer, decided to join his son on his fitness journey earlier this year.
After missing out on selection for the senior India side, Sarfaraz shed almost 10 kilos in just six weeks to prepare himself for the India A tour of England.
Sarfaraz has remained focused on improving his fitness as he eyes a comeback to the Indian side.

Earlier this year, Naushad shared that he and Sarfaraz had revamped their diet and embraced a healthier lifestyle. He had said that they had stopped eating roti and rice and cut out sugar from their diet.
“We have controlled our diet a lot. We have stopped eating roti, rice, etc. We have not eaten roti or rice at home for 1 to 1.5 months. We eat broccoli, carrots, cucumber, salad and green vegetable salad,” Naushad had said.
“Along with that, we eat grilled fish, grilled chicken, boiled chicken, boiled egg, etc. We are also having green tea and green coffee. We also eat avocados. There are sprouts also,” Naushad added.
Sarfaraz is part of the Mumbai Ranji team for the upcoming season. He will start his campaign against Jammu and Kashmir from October 15.
Sarfaraz missed the Duleep Trophy after sustaining a quadriceps injury during the Buchi Babu tournament shortly beforehand.
