Chumbak- Plot
Chumbak is a new original sitcom that focuses on neighbourhood life and the relationships that silently impact daily life. Chumbak, set in Mumbai’s ancient row-house district, delves into a world where neighbours are more than just courteous acquaintances. The show chronicles five families whose lives are inextricably linked, establishing a surrogate family over time. Anchored by a young author and an eccentric family support group, the story captures moments of humour, vulnerability, and collective fortitude as the characters face life’s daily problems together.
Talking about the show at the Netflix event, the makers said, “We’re so excited to finally introduce Chumbak to the world. This has been a truly collaborative journey, with an infectious energy on set that came from working so closely together every day. That spirit has translated beautifully on screen, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience Chumbak on Netflix this year.”
When Will Chumbak Release?
Aatish Kapadia wrote and directed the series, while Jamnadas (JD) Majethia served as producer. Chumbak adds to Netflix’s portfolio of slice-of-life originals, which focus on stories about shared environments and emotional connection. The series is set to launch on Netflix later this year.
