Renowned singer Arijit Singh recently left fans heartbroken after announcing his retirement from playback singing. Known for his soulful voice and understated persona, Arijit has built one of the most
loyal fan bases in Indian music. From starting his journey on television with the reality show Fame Gurukul to becoming Bollywood’s most bankable singer, his rise has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Over a career spanning nearly a decade, Arijit Singh has lent his voice to over 300 songs across multiple languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and Telugu. Tracks like Gehra Hua (Dhurandhar), Tainu Khabar Nahi (Munjya), Satranga (Animal) and countless romantic chartbusters have cemented his dominance in the industry.
According to a report by The Economic Times, Arijit Singh’s estimated net worth stands at approximately Rs 414 crore (around $50 million). This staggering figure is driven by his position as one of India’s highest-paid singers, with earnings coming from playback singing, live concerts, brand endorsements and music royalties.
Reports suggest that Arijit earns nearly Rs 70 crore annually, fuelled by sold-out shows and a massive global following.
The singer has also invested heavily in real estate and luxury assets. Arijit reportedly owns four apartments in a building in Mumbai’s Versova area, each valued at around Rs 9 crore. His car collection includes a Range Rover Vogue worth between Rs 1.8 crore and Rs 4 crore, a Hummer H3, and a Mercedes-Benz priced between Rs 57 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore.
How much does Arijit Singh charge per song and live performance?
Given his unmatched popularity, Arijit Singh commands a premium fee for his work. According to multiple reports, the singer charges approximately Rs 8 to Rs 10 lakh per song for film projects, with some estimates suggesting even higher figures for select productions.
His live performance fees are significantly higher. Last year, music composer Monty Sharma revealed in an interview with HT Music that Arijit charges Rs 2 crore per performance. Other reports claim that the singer earns around Rs 14 crore for a two-hour live concert, placing him among the highest-paid musicians not just in India but globally.
Earlier this year, the two-time National Award-winning singer shocked fans by announcing that he would no longer take on new playback assignments. In his post, Arijit wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
Born in 1987, Arijit Singh shot to fame with Tum Hi Ho, a song that redefined Bollywood romance and broke records upon release. He went on to deliver iconic tracks like Phir Le Aaya Dil (Barfi), Kabira (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani), Apna Bana Le (Bhediya), Tum Kya Mile (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani), and recent releases such as Ghar Kab Aaoge (Border 2) and Maatrubhumi (Battle of Galwan).
