Maruti Suzuki To Hike Car Prices By Up To Rs 30,000 From June Amid Rising Input Costs

India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday announced a price hike of up to Rs 30,000 across its vehicle portfolio from June 2026, citing continued pressure from rising input costs and inflation.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the increase comes after a sustained rise in costs despite several internal cost-cutting initiatives undertaken over the past few months.

“You are kindly informed that in view of the sustained increase in input costs, the Company has decided to increase the prices of its models across its portfolio by up to Rs 30,000 with effect from June 2026,” Maruti Suzuki said in the filing.

The automaker said it had been trying to absorb a large part of the cost burden through various efficiency and cost-reduction

measures. However, the prevailing inflationary environment and adverse cost conditions have now forced the company to pass on part of the burden to customers.

“For the past few months, the company has been making continuous efforts to mitigate the cost impact to the extent possible through cost reduction measures,” the filing stated.

“However, with inflationary pressures now at elevated levels and the adverse cost environment persisting, the Company has to pass on a portion of the increased costs to the market, while continuing to ensure that the impact on customers is kept to the minimum extent possible,” it added.

The company clarified that the quantum of the hike will vary depending on the model and variant.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio spans entry-level hatchbacks to premium SUVs, with ex-showroom prices ranging from around Rs 3.50 lakh to nearly Rs 25 lakh.

Among its popular Arena models, the S-Presso is priced between Rs 3.50 lakh and Rs 5.25 lakh, while the Alto K10 is available in the range of Rs 3.70 lakh to Rs 5.45 lakh. The Celerio, which comes with AGS automatic transmission options, is currently priced between Rs 4.70 lakh and Rs 6.73 lakh.

The company, however, did not disclose which models would see the steepest increase under the latest price revision.
