23-year-old left-handed Saim Ayub played all seven matches of the Asia Cup 2025 for the Pakistan men’s cricket team but could only manage to score 37 runs. Despite his flop show with the bat in the premier continental event which concluded on Sunday (September 28) with India’s 5-wicket win over Pakistan in the final, in the ICC T20I all-rounder’s rankings released on Wednesday (October 1), Ayub jumped four places to take the No. 1 position.
He reached the No. 1 position due to his bowling. In seven matches of the Asia Cup 2025, Saim picked up a total of eight wickets.
Ayub has 241 rating points to his credit. He replaced Hardik Pandya from the numero uno position. Pandya played six matches in the Asia Cup 2025 but could only manage to score 48
runs and take four wickets. The 31-year-old cricketer from Baroda, who missed the final due to a niggle, is now in 2nd position with 233 rating points.

Among other notable changes in the T20I all-rounder’s rankings, India’s Axar Patel jumped one place to take 10th position, whereas Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz is up by four places to become the world’s No. 14 T20I all-rounder. But Zimbabwe’s T20I captain Sikandar Raza is down by two places. He is now 5th in the rankings.
Kuldeep Yadav played seven matches for Team India in the Asia Cup 2025 and picked up 17 wickets. The tally of 17 wickets helped him jump nine places and become the world’s No. 12 T20I bowler. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi is also up by 12 places to take 13th position. Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain is in 20th place now after jumping six places.

In the T20I batter’s rankings, Abhishek Sharma has retained his No. 1 position. The left-handed batter from Amritsar has 926 rating points to his credit. He now holds the record of achieving the most rating points in the ICC T20I batter’s rankings. Tilak Varma is in third place with 819 rating points.
Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka scored 107 runs against India in Dubai on September 26, and it helped him jump two places to become the world’s No. 5 T20I batter. The Sri Lankan opener has 779 rating points. Kusal Perera has also gained two places to become the world’s No. 9 T20I batter, but India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has dropped two places to take the 8th position.
