Indian Railways Summer Special Trains 2026:
Indian Railways has rolled out a large-scale plan to manage the heavy passenger demand during the peak summer months. As part of its Summer Special Trains initiative, the trains will operate 18,262 trips between April 15 and July 15, 2026. Out of the total planned services, Indian Railways has already notified 660 Summer Special Trains, covering 11,294 trips. Summer Special Trains: Zone-Wise Allocation
The Summer Special Trains are being operated across all major railway zones to ensure balanced connectivity nationwide. Among the top-performing zones:
Central Railway leads with 3,082 trips,
East Central Railway follows with 2,711 trips,
North Western Railway accounts for 2,245 trips.
Other major contributors include Northern Railway, Western Railway and South Central Railway, all playing a key role in expanding the reach of Summer Special Trains across regions.
