The BJP has stepped up its attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi after a satirical political website, Jhooth Ki Goonj, claimed that a majority of statements made by him during his recent speeches were either false or misleading.
The website said it reviewed 40 statements made by Rahul Gandhi at four separate events liked to his ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign, and classified 29 as “false” and 11 as “misleading.”
The Congress campaign had targeted the BJP-led Centre over educational reforms.
BJP Says Youth Campaign Exposes Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Lies’
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said young people had launched the Jhooth Ki Goonj campaign in response to what he described as Rahul Gandhi’s lies.
He accused the Congress leader of attempting to use students’
grievances for political purposes.
“Whatever lies Rahul Gandhi has told, parallel to that, I saw young people sharing the echo of lies website. Let Rahul Gandhi do public relations stunts but the youth of the country can hear his echo of lies,” Bhandari said.
Bhandari also said he had read all 40 statements reviewed by the website.
“I read all the 40 statements that Rahul Gandhi gave in the last four programmes. Many young people are saying that all 40 of them have been proven to be either lies or misleading,” the BJP spokesperson said.
BJP Says Website Answers Claims With Facts
Another BJP national spokesperson, Prem Shukla, said the website had addressed Rahul Gandhi’s claims individually.
“His lies were answered with facts. The Jhooth Ki Goonj website is exposing each and every claim of Rahul Gandhi one by one. The name is spot-on too,” Shukla said.
Congress Hits Back, Calls Website Political Weapon
The Congress rejected the BJP’s attack, saying the website had been created only to be used as a political weapon.
Congress has filed a complaint against our website and two more handles at a Karnataka police station.

The Congress Karnataka unit has also filed a police complaint against the website and two other social media handles, according to a post by the website on X.
Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ Campaign
Days earlier, Congress leader Pawan Khera had said the Chhatro Ki Goonj programme had reached Delhi and created “panic” even before its message had fully arrived.
Rahul Gandhi’s Pune edition of the campaign focused on girl students and the welfare of young women.
