Mira Rajput Kapoor took fans on a nostalgic ride this week, revisiting one of the most cherished moments of her life — her wedding to actor Shahid Kapoor. Nearly a decade after the couple tied the knot,
Mira shared a glimpse of their celebration by posting a photo of their wedding reception card on Instagram, accompanied by a heartfelt reflection on how far they’ve come.
Mira Shares a Piece of Their Wedding History
In her Instagram Story, Mira uploaded a close-up of their elegant reception invitation — a minimalist design that carried understated charm. The card read:
“We celebrate the beginning of their new life. Request the honour of your presence at the wedding reception of their dearest Mira & Shahid.”
The card also acknowledged their parents — Bela and Vikramaditya Rajput, Neelima Azeem, Pankaj Kapoor, and Supriya Pathak. It listed the details of the event:
Date: Tuesday, July 7, 2015
Time: 7–10 PM
Venue: Grand Ballroom, The Oberoi, Gurgaon
A delicate lotus motif added to its aesthetic, symbolising purity, innocence, and moral excellence.
A Decade of Memories and Milestones
Earlier this year, Mira marked their anniversary by sharing several throwback photos — a montage of moments from their life together. The pictures featured glimpses of their children, Misha (born 2016) and Zain (born 2018), along with Shahid’s brother, Ishaan Khatter.
Summing up her emotions, Mira wrote, “Ten years later, and you’re still the one, my forever. You and I, we, us, and now.”
Shahid and Mira’s Unconventional Love Story
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s love story remains one of Bollywood’s most fascinating. What began as an arranged match — facilitated by their families through a religious group — soon blossomed into a deep connection.
Mira reportedly took about six months before agreeing, while Shahid is said to have fallen for her almost instantly during their first meeting — a seven-hour conversation at a Delhi farmhouse. He later recalled being mesmerised by her light hazel eyes during a sunset walk, even though their 13–14 year age gap initially made him uneasy.
Unfazed by Shahid’s stardom, Mira eventually said yes, and the two married in an intimate ceremony on July 7, 2015, in Delhi. Today, the couple stands strong as one of Bollywood’s most loved pairs, navigating marriage, parenthood, and public life with grace and warmth.
