According to a report by India Today, Shiv Sena’s local election candidate, Kiran Chaubey, was reportedly travelling with her aides and driver, Lakshman Shinde, on an electoral campaign at the time of the incident. Shinde, who suffered the heart attack, lost control of the vehicle, which then rammed into four to five other vehicles while crossing the flyover’s central divider.
The publication reported that Chaubey was rescued from the car by locals and taken to a nearby hospital, where she is now said to be in a stable condition and under observation along with her two aides. Tragically, Shinde and two local youths, Sumit Chelani and Shailesh Jadhav, died at the scene.
