CBSE 9th And 11th Syllabus To Be Released At A Webinar
The new syllabus for classes 9 and 10 will be released today, April 2, 2026. As the ‘Scheme of Studies’ under NCF-2023 is being implemented in class 9 this year, CBSE has organised a special webinar for students, teachers and parents.
This webinar will be held today
at 3 pm at CBSE Headquarters, Dwarka (Delhi), and can also be viewed online by students and teachers.
Key Features Of The New Syllabus
This year’s syllabus follows a completely new approach. The focus is no longer on rote memorisation, but on conceptual understanding. The biggest shift is towards skill-based education, with greater emphasis on students’ understanding and practical skills. Experiential learning will be promoted so that students can learn through hands-on and real-life activities.
Students will also have more flexibility in choosing subjects, and the objective of education will extend beyond merely passing examinations to ensuring their holistic development.
“The curriculum reflects alignment with the vision and principles of NCF-2023, focusing on competency-based education, experiential learning, flexibility, and holistic development of learners,” states the official notice.
CBSE Director (Academics), Dr. Pragya M. Singh, has instructed all schools to brief their teachers thoroughly about these changes. Schools have also been asked to conduct special Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to clearly explain the new syllabus to parents and students. The board has made it clear that all schools must strictly follow the revised syllabus and guidelines.
Class 3 To 8 Syllabus Released
The Education Ministry on Wednesday introduced a new AI curriculum for classes 3 to 8 as part of the mathematics syllabus. The ministry said this curriculum, focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and computational thinking, is intended to replace rote learning with critical thinking. According to the ministry, the programme – mandatory for all students in classes 3 to 8 – will be expanded to classes 9 and 10 next year. It aims to shift learners away from traditional memorisation towards the higher-order cognitive demands of critical and design thinking.
