Puneri Paltan secured their spot in the final of the Pro Kabaddi League 12 with a remarkable comeback, winning 50-45 against Telugu Titans at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. This marks their third final in four years for the season 10 champions, who will face Dabang Delhi K C on Friday.
The high-energy match was dominated by raiders, with Aditya Shinde scoring 21 points and Pankaj Mohite adding 10 points, both registering Super 10s. Despite Bharat Hooda’s 22 points and Vijay Malik’s 10 points also achieving Super 10s, it wasn’t enough for the Titans.
Aslam Inamdar initiated the scoring with the first raid point, soon matched by Hooda for the Telugu Titans.
The Titans quickly gained control with tackles from Ankit and Chetan Sahu. With
only three players left on the mat for the Paltan, Hooda’s perfect Super Raid led to the first ALL OUT of the game, giving the Titans a 10-1 lead.
Undeterred, Puneri Paltan swiftly responded with raids from Mohite and a tackle by Mohd Amaan.
Ankit’s Super Tackle kept the Titans ahead by six points, maintaining a 13-7 lead after the first 10 minutes, despite raids from Aslam and Shinde.
The intensity of the must-win clash increased, with raids coming from both sides. Pankaj’s continued momentum helped Paltan secure their first ALL OUT, reducing the deficit to four points.
Hooda completed his Super 10 for the Titans, scoring 14 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Pankaj and Aditya combined for 13 points, keeping their team within reach with a 24-20 score at halftime.
