Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was left shocked after watching an edited image of him alongside his son Jovan Veer Singh Plaha surfacing on the internet.
The turbanator asked, “Whose son is this AI?” after a publication sent the little child good wishes on what they claimed was his fourth birthday via artificial intelligence on Monday, October 27.
In the AI-created graphic found on X, a Facebook page, Masti Musti, added the image of a cute kid sitting on Harbhajan’s lap while holding together a special cake with a note “4th birthday Jovan Veer” added on it. But just when everyone joined in for the wishes, Harbhajan took the screenshot and clarified it wasn’t his little one.
Harbhajan, one of India’s leading wicket-takers in Tests and One-Day
Internationals, married film actress Geeta Basra on October 29, 2015. The couple announced the birth of their first child, daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha, on July 27, 2016, and the birth of their son Jovan Veer on July 10, 2021. It seems the AI-generated graphic got both the image of the kid and his birth date wrong, which would’ve further bemused the great off-spinner.

The famous couple had shared the news of the birth of their son via a wonderful post on Instagram four years back, with Basra penning a heartfelt note to welcome Jovan Veer into their life. “We thank the Almighty for blessing us with a healthy baby boy…We are overwhelmed with joy and would like to extend our gratitude to all our well-wishers for their constant love and support,” Basra wrote, echoing Harbhajan’s feelings.
Harbhajan retired from all forms of cricket later that year in December 2021, bidding farewell to his career in international cricket and the Indian Premier League. The off-spinner represented India across 103 Tests, 236 One-Day Internationals and 28 T20Is, taking 601 scalps at the highest level.
He also played for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and bagged 150 wickets at an economy rate of 7.07. He was part of MI’s 2013, 2015 and 2017 winning teams. He won it with the Chennai Super Kings too in 2018.
