Ward No. 169 (L Ward) is one of the 227 wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India’s largest Municipal Corporation. This ward is reserved for General and has a total population of 60713, of which 7833 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 423 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.

The gazette notification for the BMC Ward No. 169 (L Ward) was issued on December 15, 2025 (Monday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was December 31, 2025 (Wednesday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was January 2, 2026 (Friday). This ward voted on Thursday, January 15, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, January 16, 2026.
LOCATION & EXTENT
The extent of the ward as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: A line starting from the point of common boundary of Central Railway Lines and ‘L’ and ‘N’ Ward along the western side of the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘N’ Ward towards south and southwards to the eastern side up to the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘M/West’ Ward (Tansa Pipeline); thence along the western side of the said boundary towards south up to the Refinery Railway Line; thence along the eastern side of the Refinery Railway Line towards north up to the drain; thence along the southern side of the said drain towards east and eastwards to the northern side up to the Police Colony Buildings and Buildings No. 9 to 1, excluding the Ali Bilal Siddhi CHS Ltd. Building up to S G Barve Road. On the northern side of S G Barve Road towards railway line. On the eastern side of the said railway line towards the north up to the common boundary of the L’ and ‘N’ Ward …….that is, up to the place of departure. The said Ward includes the major places / settlements / towns of Nehrunagar, Kamgarnagar, Shivshaktinagar, Kurla Mother Dairy.Up to the place. PREVIOUS BMC ELECTION RESULT
The last Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Shiv Sena was the single largest party with 84 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party won 82 seats. Indian National Congress secured 31 seats, Nationalist Congress Party won nine, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won seven seats. Other parties included Samajwadi Party, which won six seats; the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won two seats and the Akhil Bhartiya Sena won a single seat. Five Independent candidates also won seats in the election.
