Shardul out for duck

On Day 1, Siddhesh Lad scored 116 runs from 156 balls, but on Day 2, their new Ranji Trophy captain, Shardul Thakur, failed to open his account even. Shardul, who was appointed as Mumbai’s captain after Ajinkya Rahane decided to pass the baton, walked out to No. 9 on Thursday morning, but despite facing 11 balls, he failed to open his account.
