Celina Jaitly Pens Emotional Note For Brother Detained In UAE: ‘Haven’t Slept A Single Night…’

Last week, Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly hailed the Delhi High Court’s ruling after it directed authorities to ensure legal access for her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the UAE since September last year. Now, a few days later, she has penned an emotional note on social media for her brother. She expressed her unwavering love for him, and wrote that she hasn’t slept a single night without crying.

Celina Jaitly’s Emotional Message For Her Brother

On Sunday, Celina Jaitly took to her Instagram to share a picture of her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly. In the caption, she wrote, “#mybrotherandme : My Dumpy, I hope you’re ok, I hope you know I’m standing with you like a rock, I hope you know I haven’t

Fans flooded her comment section with messages of strength and support. One netizen wrote, “You’ve got this,” while another one commented, “I hope the concerned authorities swing into action and your brother is back home ASAP.. God Bless.” A third comment read, “We pray for his early return. He will come soon.”

Celina Jaitly’s petition stated that her brother, a veteran of the Indian Army’s 3 Para Special Forces, has been detained in the UAE since September last year. Despite his long-standing service, including being a recipient of the COAS Commendation for Gallantry, the actor stated that the Indian authorities had not been able to provide clear information on his welfare and legal situation.

Last week, the Delhi High Court directed the external affairs ministry to provide legal assistance to the former army officer. Celina hailed the Delhi High Court’s ruling as a “ray of hope”. She shared a note on Instagram that read, “I write this from the gates of the esteemed Delhi High Court with immense gratitude, as after an arduous 14 months I have finally reached the light at the end of the dark tunnel. I have just exited the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, where my writ petition regarding my brother Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly was heard in open court.”

She further wrote, “You fought for us, bhai, now it’s time for us to stand behind you. For one year I have searched for answers for you. Now I continue my prayers to our respected government to fight for you, to bring you back safely. My government, the only entity I trust, is the Government of India, & I know they will do everything to protect this 4th-generation soldier, son, grandson & great-grandson of war veterans, who has given his everything, his entire youth, in the service of our nation, holder of the COAS Commendation for Gallantry.”
