James Cameron’s latest sci-fi spectacle Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to draw audiences at the Indian box office nearly two weeks after its release, even as domestic competition from Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar remains fierce.
According to industry trackers, Avatar: Fire and Ash has added around Rs 5 crore in India on its second Tuesday, bringing its 12-day cumulative earnings to approximately Rs 150 crore in the Indian market. Despite being a Hollywood release, the Avatar franchise enjoys a dedicated fan base in India.
Avatar: Fire and Ash Day 12 collection
Sacnilk’s box office data shows that Fire and Ash earned around Rs 5.25 crore on its 12th day alone across all languages, following steady performance in its first week, taking
its total collection to Rs 148.15 crore. While overall occupancy varied across regions, the film’s continued run reflects persistent interest among moviegoers who have returned to theatres for the third chapter of James Cameron’s famed saga.
Avatar: Fire and Ash collected Rs 109.5 crore in its first week. The movie recorded an overall 29.23% English occupancy on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The film saw a slow start in morning shows at 15.70%, with footfall picking up through the day. Afternoon shows registered 34.40%, while evening screenings peaked at 38.33%, before settling at 28.48% for night shows.
However, Avatar’s run in India is unfolding in the shadow of a local phenomenon. Aditya Dhar’s action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in an intense spy-drama role, has emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes of 2025. The film recently crossed the Rs 1,100 crore mark at the worldwide box office, a milestone shared by very few Indian films.
Dhurandhar still giving competition
Worldwide, Dhurandhar has reportedly collected over Rs 1,113 crore, with a strong domestic tally of over Rs 741 crore and robust contributions from overseas markets. The Ranveer Singh starrer has now become the 7th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time.
Dhurandhar’s momentum comes even as it chases records set by other recent Hindi hits, maintaining impressive week-to-week gains thanks to word-of-mouth and continued footfall in theatres
