Auqib Nabi is a 29-year-old right-arm medium pacer from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. Nabi, who has played 36 first-class, 29 List A and 34 T20 matches so far, has registered himself for the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi at a base price of Rs 30 lakh. He has entered his name in the all-rounder’s category for the mini auction, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 16.
Nabi has never played in the IPL before, but this year, after impressing with his performances in the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), he is likely to secure a bumper deal.
Nabi has impressed with his pace and wicket-taking abilities in domestic cricket, and since many teams need quality Indian pacers in the IPL 2026 auction, Auqib
will not be short of suitors.
Umran Malik and Yudhvir Singh Charak are two fast bowlers from Jammu and Kashmir who have played in the IPL and impressed with their performances, and Auqib is expected to join them in the elite list soon.

Auqib Nabi has dismissed 125 batters in 59 innings of 36 first-class matches played so far, and he has also scored 870 runs with the bat. In List A cricket, he has 42 wickets to his credit in 29 matches, and in T20s, he has dismissed 43 batters in 34 matches.
He was last seen in action on December 8, 2025, for Jammu and Kashmir against Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite Group B match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In that fixture, Nabi scored 32 runs from 21 balls as a No. 7 batter. He smacked 2 fours and 3 sixes for the Shubham Khajuria-led side and then picked up 3 wickets for 19 runs in four overs.
His superb all-round show helped J&K successfully defend the total of 150 runs and secure a win by 13 runs.
He finished the SMAT 2025 season with 15 wickets in seven matches and picked up one four-wicket haul. His economy in the premier domestic T20 tournament was 7.41.
In the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, Auqib has picked up 29 wickets in five matches. Only one bowler – Siddharth Desai – has dismissed more batters than Auqib in the ongoing season.
Nabi played a big role in J&K’s five-wicket win over Mumbai in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy match at BKC in Mumbai. In that fixture, Aquib picked up two wickets (Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tanush Kotian) in the first innings and dismissed four Mumbai batters – Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, Shams Mulani and Shardul Thakur – in the second.
