Trains on Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Yellow Line will run at a frequency of every 13 minutes, instead of the current 15 minutes. The development comes as Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has
announced the addition of a sixth train on the Yellow Line starting December 23.
Notably, on Sundays, the train frequency will remain unchanged, with services continuing at a 15-minute interval, as per the current schedule.
BMRCL has clarified that there will be no changes to the first and last train timings on the Yellow Line. Only the frequency between services during operational hours will be adjusted following the introduction of the additional train.
96 New Trains Being Added
As per the reports, 96 new trains are being added to ease travel for the passengers. As new trains arrive, BMRCL is preparing to run Metro trains every 4 minutes. Currently, 64 trains have been added to the Green, Purple, and Yellow Lines.
