Smriti Mandhana is on fire for India in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong, China on Thursday (September 3). In the fixture being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the left-handed batter needed 57 balls to score her second century in women’s T20Is.
Mandhana’s century in India’s second Group A match of the ongoing eight-team tournament in Dubai helped her break the world record for the most centuries in women’s international cricket.

Mandhana, who is playing her 302nd international match for India on Thursday, now has
18 centuries to her name in international cricket.
She is followed by Australia’s Meg Lanning and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who have scored 17 centuries each across formats.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is fourth on the list with 15 centuries, while New Zealand’s Suzie Bates and England’s Tammy Beaumont finished their international careers with 14 centuries each.
Mandhana, who is the first Indian batter to score a century in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, is also the first Indian to score multiple centuries in women’s T20Is. If she scores at least 113 runs in the ongoing match against Hong Kong China, she will break the record for the most runs by an Indian batter in a women’s T20I innings.
Mandhana scored her maiden WT20I century on June 28, 2025, against England in Nottingham. In that match, she played a brilliant knock of 112 runs off 62 balls.
A score of at least 113 runs by Mandhana in the ongoing match will also take her international run tally to 10,869, helping her surpass former India captain Mithali Raj’s tally of 10,868 runs.
Mithali Raj tops the list of players with the most runs in women’s international cricket. She represented India in 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20Is between 1999 and 2022, scoring 699, 7,805 and 2,364 runs, respectively.
