All-rounder Harsh Dubey was named captain of Vidarbha for their away Ranji Trophy match against Andhra on Friday, while Mohammed Faiz was included in the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy final.
Vidarbha
reached the final of the premier 50-over domestic competition by defeating Karnataka by six wickets in the first semifinal on Thursday, thanks to Aman Mokhade’s tremendous form, scoring a match-winning 138.
Dubey took over as Vidarbha skipper for the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockouts after Akshay Wadkar suffered a wrist injury during their match against Uttar Pradesh. Rohit Binkar was appointed as the replacement wicketkeeper-batter.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy final will be held on Sunday at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where all knockout stage matches have taken place.
Meanwhile, the Ranji Trophy will resume its second leg, including the knockouts, from January 22.
Defending champions Vidarbha will face Andhra in Anantpur from January 22-25 before returning home to play against Uttar Pradesh.
