As veteran actor Dharmendra continues to recover after being discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, actor-politician Bina Kak took to Instagram to recall her first meeting with the legendary star.
Sharing a monochrome photo of the 89-year-old actor, Bina expressed admiration for his warmth, humility, and deep love for family and nature. “Dharam Pha jee (bhappa jee), that’s what I call him. First met him when I was Deputy Minister in 1986 in Rajasthan where he was shooting. He had come to meet the then CM late Harideo Joshi jee,” she wrote.
Describing the moment fondly, she continued, “When he shook hands with me, मेरा तो हाथ उनके बड़े हाथ में गुम ही गया (my hand was lost in his bigger one)! Stayed in touch! Loving, khandani, cultured, extremely affectionate family man. Who loved nature and good food.”
Bina concluded her emotional note with a heartfelt prayer for his recovery: “Stay there PA jee. You are a fighter, just be there. The nation is praying for your good health.”
Dharmendra Discharged From Hospital, Recovering At Home
The legendary actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month due to age-related health issues. His hospitalisation had led to widespread concern among fans and the circulation of false reports regarding his condition. However, his family has now clarified that the Sholay actor has been discharged and is recuperating well at home.
In an official statement, the family shared, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
Dr. Pratit Samdani, who has been treating the veteran actor, also confirmed to PTI, “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7.30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him treatment at home.”
Dharmendra’s fans and colleagues across the film fraternity continue to pour in prayers and heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery.
