Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur will soon be seen in the highly anticipated pan-India action drama ‘Dacoit’. While the film was initially set to release on March 19, 2026, during the Eid-Gudi Padwa holidays,
it looks like the makers are considering a new release date for the film, thus avoiding a box office clash with Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2 and Yash starrer Toxic, both slated to release on March 19. According to The Hollywood Reporter India, the makers of Dacoit are now eyeing an April release.
Dacoit To Release In April?
According to The Hollywood Reporter India, the makers of Dacoit are considering changing the release date to secure a clearer theatrical window for the film. The makers are confident about how the movie has shaped up, and want a date where it can get maximum visibility and box-office potential without clashing with other releases. A source told the portal, “With production wrapping on Tuesday and the final cut shaping up strongly, the team is keen to position the film on a date that allows it maximum visibility and breathing room.” A new release date for Dacoit is expected to be locked soon.
Dacoit stars Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap, and is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla in significant roles, along with others. Helmed by Shaneil Deo, it is produced jointly by Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang.
Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh recently completed the final schedule of his film Dacoit. Speaking about wrapping up the film, Adivi Sesh shared in a detailed note, “Wrapping the final schedule of Dacoit feels both surreal and deeply emotional for me. This film has been an intense journey, physically, creatively, and mentally. From writing the first draft to now standing at the edge of completion, every phase has demanded complete honesty and commitment. We just wrapped up the last schedule, and there’s a quiet sense of fulfilment that comes with knowing we’ve given this story everything we had.”
