New Delhi, May 19 (PTI) At its 131st meeting, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) Enforcement Task Force (ETF) reviewed reports from 125 inspections and enforcement actions carried out in the National Capital Region area between April 29 and May 10.
The flying squads inspected 20 construction and demolition sites, 51 across the industrial sector, and 54 related to diesel generator sets.
A total of 39 violations were reported: 10 from construction and demolition sites, 10 from the industrial sector and 19 across diesel generator sets.
“The ETF also reviewed the issue of road dust mitigation and took note of inspections carried out by Noida Authority on May 8,” an official said.
During these inspections, authorities examined 46 areas,
reported 28 violations, and issued show-cause notices for repeat violations.
“Moreover, the CAQM has emphasised the need for timely submission of inspection reports by flying squad teams and photographic/videographic evidence,” said the official.
During the meeting, the commission reiterated the need for robust enforcement, strengthened inter-agency coordination and strict adherence to prescribed environmental norms to ensure air pollution abatement across the NCR. PTI ALC ASD ASD
