King, Ramayana, Jana Nayagan Beat Dhurandhar 2 In 'Most Anticipated Films' Of 2026 List

IMDb has released a list of the most anticipated films of the year, and guess which one is most awaited? Shah Rukh Khan’s King. Yes, you read it right. King is the most anticipated Indian movie of 2026, based on the page views of the hundreds of millions of IMDb customers worldwide.

The 20-title list includes movies in five languages: 10 Hindi, five in Telugu, three in Tamil, one in Malayalam, and one in Kannada. The list proves that fans are eagerly anticipating Shah Rukh Khan’s reunion with Siddharth Anand in King, which marks SRK’s much-awaited return to the big screen after almost three years.

King is followed by Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s Ramayan and Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan. The list includes two sequels: Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2.

It also features movies expanding established cinematic universes, such as Alpha (YRF Spy Universe), Benz (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), and Shakti Shalini (Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe).

It should be noted that Prabhas’ movie with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit, is also on the list. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal-starrer Love and War is also the 15th most-awaited movie of the year.

However, it should also be noted that Jana Nayagan is a part of the list at a time when it continues to struggle to get a clearance from the CBFC. The film was supposed to hit theatres on January 9 but was then postponed due to certification issues. Earlier this week, the Madras High Court put a stay on a single judge’s order to grant clearance to the film.
