In her 150th T20I for the Indian women’s cricket team, star all-rounder Deepti Sharma produced a sensational performance with the ball. She picked up three wickets without conceding a run in 1.1 overs to help Harmanpreet Kaur-led side secure a 94-run win over Thailand in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A match.
In the fixture played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (August 30), Deepti opened her account by trapping Naomi Hamilton lbw with the first ball of the ninth over of Thailand’s 160-run chase.

After striking with the first ball of her spell, Deepti dismissed Nannaphat Chaihan off the third ball. Chaihan was caught by Nandani Sharma after scoring a two-ball duck.
The star all-rounder then returned to bowl the 17th over of Thailand’s innings and dismissed Nannapat Koncharoenkai with the first ball.
Nannapat was caught by Richa Ghosh after scoring 41 runs off 48 balls while batting at No. 3. She was the only Thailand batter to score in double digits.
The three-wicket haul helped Deepti take her tally to 171 wickets in 150 T20Is for India. She now has one more wicket than Thailand spinner Thipatcha Putthawong in the 20-over format of the game.

Putthawong, who picked up one wicket for 37 runs in her four overs against India earlier in the day, is now second on the list with 170 wickets in 109 T20Is.
Deepti needed to take at least two more wickets than Putthawong in the Group A match to move to the top of the list of bowlers with the most wickets in women’s T20Is, and she achieved the feat.
However, Putthawong will have another opportunity to reclaim the top spot when Thailand face Pakistan in their third Group A match. Deepti, meanwhile, can extend her lead in India’s upcoming matches against Hong Kong China on September 3 and Pakistan on September 5.
