able to verify those claims by downloading the Comet browser app on our Windows system, with the Android version for mobile devices coming soon.

Perplexity Pro is the paid version of the AI chatbot that rivals ChatGPT Plus, Gemini AI Pro and other paid models available in the market. 

Airtel subscribers in India have got a free Perplexity Pro subscription with their Wi-Fi, mobile plans and DTH plans, which allows them to use features worth Rs 17,000 for 12 months. 

Comet Browser Free Access For Indian Perplexity Pro Users 

Comet browser has been available with a waitlist since its launch earlier this year but the company has removed that friction for the Pro users in India. Perplexity has surely unlocked a wider user base with the latest news, especially since many of them are using the AI chatbot through their Airtel number. 

We were also able to confirm with Perplexity whether the Comet free-waitlist access is applicable for the Airtel-based free AI plan offer, and the company told us, “Comet is now available to all Pro subscribers in India — no waitlist necessary — whether they have subscribed to Perplexity Pro directly or through an Airtel subscription.” 

This makes India one of the first markets where Comet browser is available even with the Perplexity Pro free offer subscribers. You essentially need an Airtel prepaid/postpaid number, a Wi-Fi connection or DTH service to get the free Pro version for your registered number and email ID.

You can easily get the Perplexity Pro free offer with the Airtel service from the Airtel Thanks app by following these steps: 

• Open Airtel Thanks app on your Android or iOS phone
• Scroll down to Rewards & OTTs and tap on it
• You will see a host of rewards available with your Airtel plan
• Tap on the Perplexity Pro offer valid for 12 months
• Click on proceed to claim the Perplexity Pro AI offer
• Sign in with your Google or Apple ID to enjoy a host of premium AI features

Airtel said the offer can be redeemed between July 17, 2025 and January 17, 2026 after which the free deal will not be available to its customers. Existing Perplexity Pro subscribers can also avail this offer.

The browser from Perplexity has features like the Comet Assistant built into its UI, making it a personal assistant for all the tasks. You can ask questions about any web page and the assistant will answer from the tabs that are open and also through the relevant browsing history. This is similar to Google’s new Chrome addition where Gemini AI can perform agentic tasks, but that is only available for users in the US region for now.
