Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has paid a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Territorial Army (TA) on its 77th anniversary, commending its legacy of “selfless service, resilience, and unwavering commitment.” Taking to social media, the actor expressed pride in being part of the 122 INF BN (TA) Madras, Kozhikode, while honouring every soldier who continues to uphold the nation’s spirit.

The veteran actor, who was inducted as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in 2009, shared his admiration for the dedication of the forces, adding, “Saluting every soldier who stands tall for our nation, and paying heartfelt tribute to the martyred heroes and their families for their supreme sacrifice.”
Mohanlal’s association with the Territorial Army has always been a source of pride for both him and his fans. Earlier this week, he met Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi in New Delhi to receive a commendation following his Dadasaheb Phalke Award win, further reaffirming his connection to the armed forces.

After meeting the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, Mohanlal spoke to the news agency ANI when he said, “It is a great recognition and so much honour to receive commendation from the Army Chief. Dadasaheb Phalke award is also one of the reasons. So, we had a good meeting and we also had a small lunch. It’s a great gesture from the fraternity. I have also been a part of this fraternity for the last 16 years…We had some conversation on how to bring out more efficiency in TA battalion and what we can do for the country.”
On the work front, the veteran star continues to balance cinema and service. He was last seen in Hridayapoorvam, which crossed ₹100 crore globally, and is now filming Patriot alongside Mammootty and Nayanthara, as well as Jeethu Joseph’s much-awaited Drishyam 3.
