Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final with a comprehensive 92-run win against the Gujarat Titans in Dharamsala on Tuesday. Rajat Patidar played the captain’s knock, starring with an unbeaten 93 off 33 balls as RCB posted 254/5 in 20 overs. In reply, GT collapsed in the powerplay and were bowled out for 162 in 19.3 overs.

RCB’s 93-run triumph in Qualifier 1 is now the second-biggest victory by margin of runs registered by a team in the IPL playoffs. The defending champions surpassed Chennai Super Kings’ 86-run win against Delhi Capitals at Chepauk in 2012.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru put up
a huge total of 254/5 after being asked to bat first. Rajat Patidar played a commendable innings, scoring aggressively and hitting boundaries with ease. He survived two early chances and then dominated the bowlers, smashing nine sixes and five fours. RCB scored 114 runs in the last six overs, including 86 in the final five.
Gujarat Titans needed a strong start but lost early wickets in the powerplay. Sai Sudharsan got out in an unusual way when his bat slipped and hit the stumps. Shubman Gill was dismissed cheaply, and GT quickly fell to 51/5. Rahul Tewatia tried to fight back with 68, but the target was too big as GT were bowled out for 162.
Earlier, Virat Kohli (43) and Devdutt Padikkal (30) gave RCB a good start. Though GT bowlers slowed things in the middle overs, dropped catches of Patidar proved costly. He made full use of those chances and, along with Krunal Pandya (43), ensured RCB finished with a massive score and a dominant win.
