Singer-composer Jasleen Royal recently swapped the studio for the cricket pitch as she joined Indian Women’s Cricket Team stars Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues for a special event that brought music and sport together.
The session was organised after a viral social media video showcasing Jasleen’s leg-spin bowling skills caught the attention of BCCI and JioStar. Following the buzz around the clip, the organisations invited the musician for an interactive athletic session and live performance with members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.

The event began with Jasleen leading an intimate behind-the-scenes conversation with Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues. The trio
spoke about the similarities between music and cricket, touching upon discipline, pressure, performance, global impact and the mindset needed to succeed at the highest level.
The conversation brought together two different creative and competitive worlds, with Jasleen representing India’s independent music space and Harmanpreet and Jemimah bringing their experience from international cricket.
Jasleen Royal Impresses With Her Leg-Spin Bowling
After the conversation, Jasleen moved to the pitch and demonstrated her cricketing skills. The singer-songwriter bowled a full six-ball over to both Harmanpreet and Jemimah, showing her leg-spin technique, control and variations.
Her bowling reportedly left the two cricketers impressed, especially given that Jasleen has often spoken about her childhood love for cricket. For the musician, the moment marked a full-circle experience, from growing up as a cricket enthusiast to sharing the pitch with some of India’s biggest women cricketers.
Jasleen Performs Heeriye And Inaam For Indian Squad
After the cricket session, Jasleen returned to her musical roots and performed an intimate live set for the Indian squad. She sang her massively popular track Heeriye along with her newly released song Inaam, creating a celebratory atmosphere for the team.
Jasleen has also been vocal in her support for women’s sports over the years. She has frequently used her platform to amplify the achievements of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team during major tournaments. As a gesture of appreciation, the team presented her with an official jersey signed by the squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The event also ended with another memorable moment for Jasleen. Impressed by her bowling skills and support for the team, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues invited her to travel with the team to the United Kingdom for their upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in England.
