New Delhi, Jun 17 (PTI) Delhi government authorities undertook inspections of buildings and commercial establishments across the city on Wednesday as part of an ongoing drive to check violations of building by-laws and fire-safety norms, with 28 sites inspected during the day, officials said.
Separately, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said demolition action was carried out at 26 properties and 16 properties were sealed. The civic body also issued 25 show-cause notices for unauthorised construction, 12 sealing notices and 13 demolition orders.
According to the officials, district authorities have inspected 844 sites across the city between June 5 and June 17, including 28 properties on Wednesday. Notices were issued at 16 locations during
the inspections, while no sealing or demolition action was carried out during the day.
The inspections covered hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, banquet halls and other buildings. In North district, officials issued notices to several hotels and guesthouses in Mahindra Park and Jahangirpuri after finding the absence of sanctioned building plans, fire NOCs and completion certificates, the officials said.
In North-East district, violations were reported at a restaurant in Yamuna Vihar and a banquet hall in Ganga Vihar, while reports were forwarded for further action.
In Outer North district, inspections of hotel properties in Narela found violations, with reports sent to the MCD and Delhi Fire Services (DFS) for action.
According to the MCD’s data, since June 1, 256 demolitions and 258 sealings have been carried out, and 380 unauthorised construction notices, 164 sealing notices and 109 demolition orders issued. PTI VBH RC
