A steady surge in audience turnout marked the first weekend of Maa Inti Bangaaram, as Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest release continued to gain traction across theatres, particularly in the southern markets. The film, which arrived in cinemas on June 19, has been showing an upward trend in collections through its opening days.
The Sunday numbers added the biggest boost yet, pushing the film’s overall three-day India net total past the ₹23 crore mark, according to box office tracker Sacnilk. The strong weekend performance has been largely driven by family audiences and increasing occupancy across key regions.
On its third day, the film collected an estimated ₹10.10 crore net in India. This reflects a healthy 32% jump compared to Saturday’s ₹7.65
crore, showing clear growth in footfall over the weekend.
Occupancy levels also saw a notable rise, climbing from 44.6% on Saturday to 52.4% on Sunday across 2,965 shows nationwide. The steady increase suggests improving word-of-mouth as the weekend progressed.
With this, the total India net collection stands at ₹23.10 crore, while the gross domestic total has reached ₹26.69 crore.
The strongest contribution continues to come from the Telugu version, which has emerged as the primary driver of the film’s box office performance. On day three alone, it earned ₹9.50 crore net with an impressive 60% occupancy across 2,341 shows.
The Tamil version, meanwhile, added ₹0.60 crore net on the same day from 624 shows, with 24% occupancy. While comparatively lower, it still indicates a gradual audience build in other southern circuits.
The film also marks Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s return to cinemas after a gap of three years. Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy and produced under Tralala Moving Pictures, the project has been receiving a warm response, especially among audiences familiar with the actor-director combination.
This collaboration also reunites Samantha and Nandini Reddy after successful outings like Oh! Baby (2019) and Jabardasth (2013), which had previously performed well at the box office.
In Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha plays Swarna, a woman who enters a traditional household after marriage but struggles to find acceptance within her new family. The situation escalates when a threat from her past resurfaces, forcing her to protect the very people who doubt her while keeping her identity hidden.
The film features Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, and Gautami in key supporting roles. It has been awarded a UA certificate and runs for 2 hours and 34 minutes.
