Skipper Smriti Mandhana opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their WPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday (January 17) and scored 96 runs from 61 balls. The star left-handed batter was unlucky to miss out on a deserving century against the Jemimah Rodrigues-led side, but by scoring 96 runs with the help of 13 fours and 3 sixes, she broke Harmanpreet Kaur’s record of the highest score by an Indian batter in the WPL.
During the WPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Harman remained unbeaten on 95 runs from 48 balls in the 191-run chase on March 9, 2024.

to score a century so far. The record of the highest score in WPL history is in the name of New Zealand’s Sophie Devine. While playing for RCB in WPL 2023, the legendary all-rounder scored 99 runs from 36 balls against Gujarat Giants at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 18, 2023.
On March 8, 2025, while playing for UP Warriorz against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow, Australian batter Georgia Voll also scored 99 runs from 56 balls. She missed out on becoming the first batter to score a century in the WPL because she didn’t get a chance to face the final ball of the innings.
