A lavish countryside estate, ambitious construction plans and now a growing legal dispute… Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly dealing with fresh trouble linked to their sprawling New York property project. The Hollywood couple’s long-running dream mansion build has suddenly found itself under intense scrutiny after multiple contractors allegedly came forward with unpaid claims.
According to reports, five contractors and subcontractors have filed mechanics liens against the couple’s estate in Lewisboro, New York, claiming they are owed more than $2.1 million for construction-related work carried out on the property.
As reported by TMZ, the actors had envisioned transforming nearly 110 acres of land into an ultra-luxury private compound
after quietly purchasing the property in 2018. Plans for the estate reportedly included a massive 14,500-square-foot main residence along with a pool house, gym facilities and eco-friendly heating infrastructure.
However, the large-scale construction project has now reportedly come to a standstill.
A report by Daily Mail stated that official documents filed in April 2026 show outstanding dues amounting to $2,108,856.63.
The biggest claim has reportedly been filed by Flower Construction, a luxury construction company seeking $1,356,157.54 for work carried out on the estate. The company allegedly handled major portions of the project, including framing, brickwork, electrical systems, plumbing, drywall installation and heating-cooling infrastructure.
In addition to that, four specialised subcontractors have also filed separate claims connected to excavation work, drainage systems and environmentally sustainable heating installations on the property.
Reports further suggest that progress on the mansion had already started slowing down toward the end of 2025 before work completely stopped earlier this year.
The reported construction pause happened during the same period when Blake Lively was involved in a widely discussed legal conflict connected to It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
Lively had accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and running a retaliatory smear campaign against her. The legal battle became one of Hollywood’s most closely followed disputes in recent months. Reports later stated that several counterclaims filed by Baldoni were dismissed, while multiple allegations from Lively also did not proceed further in court.
The matter was reportedly heading toward a federal trial in New York before both parties reached a zero-dollar settlement, avoiding a courtroom showdown altogether.
Soon after the case was resolved, Lively made a high-profile public appearance at the Met Gala on May 4. Despite her return to the spotlight, the reported financial dispute surrounding the New York estate continues to remain unresolved.
So far, neither Blake Lively nor Ryan Reynolds has publicly addressed the contractor claims. Representatives for the actors, along with officials from the Westchester County Clerk’s office, have also not issued any formal statement regarding the reported liens.
