New Delhi, Sep 29 (PTI) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will organise the SafaiMitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir in the national capital on Wednesday as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign.
The shivir (camp) will recognise and honour the contribution of SafaiMitras and facilitate their access to health, safety and social protection measures.
The SHS 2026 campaign carries the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, while the theme of the shivir is “Samman Safai Mitron Ka, Sankalp Swachh Bharat Ka”.
The programme will be organised in hybrid mode, with the physical event at Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium, Dr S P M Civic Centre, New Delhi. Urban Local Bodies, Rural Local Bodies and line departments
from across the country will participate virtually.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will be the chief guest, while Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B L Verma and MCD Mayor Pravesh Wahi will attend as guests of honour.
The shivir will provide a single-window platform for a range of interventions aimed at supporting sanitation workers and their families. PTI ADI
