Police at the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) have registered a suo motu case against Lulu Mall management and the organisers of a promotional event after actor Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by fans during a song launch. The incident occurred on Wednesday at the mall during an event linked to the upcoming film The Raja Saab. Co-star Prabhas was also present, drawing a large turnout that quickly became difficult to manage. Videos from the event, now widely shared online, show Nidhhi Agerwal surrounded by a dense crowd as fans attempted to take photographs and interact with her. The actor is seen struggling to move through the gathering and reach her vehicle, with the situation escalating as her personal space was repeatedly invaded. KPHB Inspector
S. Rajashekar Reddy confirmed that the organisers had not sought prior permission to hold the programme. “A case is being registered against the mall management and the event organisers for holding the programme without permission,” he said. Officials said further inquiry is under way to assess shortcomings in crowd control and security measures at the venue.
The makers organised a song launch event for the track Sahana Sahana in Hyderabad on Wednesday, December 17. But the excitement took an unfortunate turn when actress Nidhhi Agerwal, who was also present for the event held at Lulu Mall, was mobbed by fans.
The event drew an overwhelming number of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the cast. However, as it concluded, Niddhi tried to exit the venue and enter her, and the situation spiralled out of control. In a video going viral, the actress was seen getting visibly uncomfortable as she was manhandled when she exited the venue.
As seen in a video shared by Gulte, fans mobbed the actress, jostling and pushing in an attempt to get closer to her. The crowd refused to clear a path, making it extremely difficult for her to move safely. Visibly shaken, Nidhhi struggled through the chaos until her security personnel and team intervened. Fortunately, they were able to escort her into her car. She appeared relieved once she safely got inside the car. The incident has prompted discussion over celebrity safety and crowd management at public events. Some even called out the lack of civic sense among fans.
