PGA Award Nominations: Warner Bros Leads With Multiple Films In Top Category

The Producers Guild of America has finally unveiled the film and television nominees for this year’s highly anticipated PGA Awards. The 37th Annual PGA Awards are once again expected to set the tone for the Oscar race, particularly in the Best Picture category.

Nominees for the PGA Awards’ top honour, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, have historically gone on to predict the eventual Oscar winner for Best Picture.

What Are The Nominees For PGA Awards’ Marquee Prize?

This year’s top category lineup at the PGA shows a competitive field of prestige producers and commercial success. Warner Bros. dominates the lineup with three entries this year and a fourth with a co-distributor.

Warner Bros. landed expected nominations for Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, and Zach Cregger’s genre-bending Weapons. The studio also shared in the nomination for Joseph Kosinski’s F1, produced and financed by Apple Original Films.

Other Notable Nominations for PGA Awards

In the animated movie category, the nominees include The Bad Guys 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, Elio, K-Pop Demon Hunters and Zootopia 2.

In the TV categories, the Normal Felton Award nominees for episodic drama are Andor, The Diplomat, The Pitt, Pluribus, Severance and The White Lotus. On the other hand, the comedy nominees are The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, South Park and The Studio.

Limited series nominees include Adolescence, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Black Rabbit and Dying for Sex. The documentary nominees are The Alabama Solution, Cover-Up, Mr Nobody Against Putin, My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay, Ocean with David Attenborough, The Perfect Neighbour and The Tale of Silyan.

The PGA Awards also recognises producers across televised and streamed films, non-fiction programming, live and variety television, and competition series. Nominees in those categories include Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Mr Scorsese, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Traitors.

As the Oscar nomination voting begins on Monday, the PGA Awards once again stand as a critical bellwether in an increasingly crowded awards season. The PGA Awards will be held on February 28 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
