Border 2 Earns Rs 30 Crore On Opening Day
Directed and co-written by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a standalone sequel to Border, which was directed by J.P. Dutta and remains one of the most iconic war films in Hindi cinema. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, the film is backed by T-Series Films and J.P. Films.
Set again against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, Border 2 expands the scale of the original film. Unlike its predecessor, which focused primarily on the Indian Army, the latest film showed a multi-front war narrative, combining operations of the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. At the centre of it all is Sunny Deol’s Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler, a commanding officer, mentor and emotional anchor to a group of younger soldiers played by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film also features Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.
The sequel has already created history by earning a record-breaking Rs 30 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office, as per Sacnilk.
