Jalna, Sep 18 (PTI) Mobiles phones worth Rs 65 lakh were stolen from a shop in Ambad city in Jalna district in the early hours of Friday, a police official said.
The shutter of the shop, in the main market, was taken out using a gas cutter, the Ambad police station official added.
“After stealing mobiles phones worth Rs 65 lakh, the 4-5 accused fled in an SUV as the alarm at the shop went off. CCTV is being examined to nab those involved,” the official said.
Shop owner Amit Jaiswal said a theft attempt was made at his shop last month as well but the thieves could not cause damage at the time since they could not cut out the shutter.
Jaiswal said he arrived at the shop after he got a theft alert on his mobile phone.
“Seeing me approach the shop, the thieves
escaped in their SUV,” he said. PTI COR BNM
