Former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid has picked his former teammate MS Dhoni as the best captain ever, even while picking former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan as a better leader than Virat Kohli.
In a clip shared by Cricinfo, Dravid took part in the ‘winner stays on’ game, picking Steve Smith over Ben Stokes
, Pat Cummins, Arjuna Ranatunga, Kane Williamson, Graeme Smith, Eoin Morgan, Stephen Fleming and Michael Clarke.Smith’s biggest achievement was leading Australia to a 2-0 Test series victory in the West Indies in 2015, his first series as full-time Test skipper.
But Dravid, who owns the Dublin Guardians in the ETPL, moved on from Smith when Ponting’s name came up. He picked the latter over Allan Border, before choosing Steve Waugh when the Aussie
great was presented as the next choice.
Ponting’s greatest achievement was winning the 2003 and 2007 World Cups, because he became just the second skipper after Clive Lloyd to win two ODI World Cups.
Waugh’s biggest achievement was the 1999 World Cup win, as it was his only World Cup as skipper and marked the start of Australia’s sustained dominance in the early 2000s.

When Kohli’s name came up, Dravid picked him without hesitation, but the former India skipper was unable to get past the 1992 World Cup-winning captain. “For what he did, Imran Khan,” Dravid said while explaining his reason for picking Imran over Kohli.
Kohli’s biggest achievement was winning the 2018-19 Test series against Australia Down Under.
The game ended with Dhoni being chosen ahead of Imran and Sir Clive Lloyd. Both Imran and Lloyd are regarded as two of the greatest leaders in cricket history. Under Lloyd, the West Indies dominated world cricket and won the 1975 and 1979 World Cups, while Imran led Pakistan to their only World Cup win in 1992.
