Govinda has seemingly addressed the recent controversy surrounding his marriage with Sunita Ahuja while making a public appearance at the Youth Shakti Dahi Handi event. Without directly naming his wife or responding to specific allegations, the actor spoke about several things being “written in the sky” and expressed hope that he would be able to clear them up.
During the same interaction, Govinda sought support and blessings from his fans as he prepares for his return to films. The actor confirmed that Roopa and Duniyadari are among his upcoming projects.
Govinda Makes Cryptic Remark Amid Personal Life Controversy
Govinda began his address by speaking about the cultural importance of Dahi Handi and the responsibility of carrying India’s traditions
forward.
“When this endeavour is taking place, it is not just a game… We all have to carry forward the heritage of our country. We must keep in mind how we can move ahead within the entire world,” he said, as translated.
The actor then made a cryptic reference to the discussions surrounding him. His remarks came amid renewed attention on Sunita’s allegations about his alleged affairs.
“Bhot si baatein aasman mein likh di gayi hain. Main prarthana karta hoon ki wo clean up ho aur Govinda usko clear up kar paye,” he said.
Govinda also appealed to those who have supported him throughout his career. “Aaplog ka sahyog chahiye, sath chahiye,” he added.
Govinda Announces Roopa And Duniyadari
Apart from addressing the chatter around his personal life, Govinda used the occasion to speak about his acting comeback. He announced Roopa and Duniyadari as his upcoming films and thanked fans for continuing to stand by him.
The actor ended his address by asking them to pray for him as he attempts to move forward. “Govinda aage nikal paye aisi prarthana kijiye,” he said.
His comments come after a series of public statements involving Sunita and their marriage over the past year.
What Sunita Ahuja Has Said About Govinda’s Alleged Affairs
Sunita’s comments about Govinda’s alleged relationships began attracting attention in 2025 when she spoke about rumours linking him to a Marathi actress.
The subject resurfaced in June 2026 during Sunita’s appearance on Lock Upp. She claimed that Govinda had “countless flings over the years” and remarked, “Infidelity has been happening since day one, hasn’t it?”
A month later, however, Sunita spoke about her relationship with Govinda in a different interview and said she continued to love and trust him despite everything that had been discussed publicly.
“Woh 50 jagah bhi jaaye mujhe pata hai woh mere paas hi aayega,” she said.
Govinda And Sunita’s Recent Exchange Over Roopa
More recently, the couple publicly clashed after Sunita commented on the appearance of Komal Rani Swarnkar, Govinda’s co-star in his upcoming film Roopa.
Govinda subsequently responded to his wife’s remarks and asked her to “stay within your limits.” He also accused Sunita of attempting to harm his reputation and negatively affect his comeback film.
At the Dahi Handi event, Govinda did not directly address any individual allegation made by Sunita. Instead, he spoke about wanting to “clear up” what had been said about him and sought his fans’ support as he prepares to return to the big screen with Roopa and Duniyadari.
