Jim Curtis is finally opening up about his relationship with Jennifer Aniston, offering rare insight into their low-key romance that has quietly blossomed over the past year.
The hypnotherapist and health
and wellness expert appeared on the Today show on Monday, January 26, to promote his work and his new book, The Book of Possibility. While the conversation largely focused on his professional journey, host Craig Melvin couldn’t resist slipping in a few questions about Curtis’ relationship with the Friends star.
How Jim Curtis and Jennifer Aniston First Connected
When asked how he and Aniston first crossed paths, Curtis kept things simple, explaining that their story didn’t begin with any grand Hollywood meet-cute. “We were just introduced by friends. That’s it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat,” he said.
Curtis also made it clear that their connection developed gradually rather than instantly turning romantic. “It took a long time, we chatted for a long time and we became close,” he shared, suggesting that friendship laid the foundation for what eventually followed.
When Melvin pressed him on how long they’ve been together, Curtis remained intentionally vague but did reveal that their relationship has been going strong for quite a while now. “A long time, months now, almost close to a year,” he said, before laughing off the attention.
Melvin quickly noticed Curtis blushing during the exchange, joking, “I’m not gonna put you on the spot anymore because you’re kind of blushing right now.” Curtis, clearly flattered, responded honestly: “Okay, yeah I sure am.”
Going Public and Why Their Relationship Feels Different
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in November, when Aniston shared a cozy photo of herself with her arms wrapped around Curtis. She captioned the post, “Happy birthday my love Cherished ❤️,” marking their first public acknowledgment as a couple.
Before that, romance rumors had been swirling since July 2025, when the pair were spotted vacationing together in Mallorca, Spain, alongside Jason Bateman, his wife Amanda Anka, and Amy Schumer.
Earlier this month, a source told PEOPLE that Aniston feels particularly grounded in this relationship. “She had a great end to the year and feels really good about where things are with Jim,” the source said. “She’s excited about this new year and what’s ahead, especially with Jim by her side now.”
The insider added, “Jen’s always been fine on her own and comfortable being single, but her relationship with Jim is just different.” Describing their bond further, the source shared, “She’s very happy and comfortable. He’s just so sweet and supportive of her. He makes her everyday life better.”
