Petrol, Diesel & CNG Fresh Prices Announced: Check City-Wise Rates For July 12

Petrol, Diesel, CNG Prices on July 12, 2026: Prices of petrol, diesel and CNG remained unchanged on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) and natural gas distribution companies revise the fuel prices at 6 am every day.

Crude oil prices were holding relatively steady, even after a series of unclaimed airstrikes hit Iran after the US said it had finished its attacks. The price for a barrel of Brent crude oil, the international standard, rose 0.2 per cent to $76.47. That’s above the $72 it was at the start of the week, when it was back below its level from before the war with Iran, but it’s still well below its wartime peak of nearly $120. The worry is that continued fighting could block oil tankers from the Strait of Hormuz and prevent

the delivery of crude from the Persian Gulf to customers worldwide.

Petrol Costliest In Hyderabad, Diesel In Thiruvananthapuram

Petrol prices remained the highest in Hyderabad at Rs 115.69 per litre on May 25, 2026. Thiruvananthapuram followed closely, where petrol rates stood at Rs 115.49 per litre.

On the other hand, Chandigarh continued to have the lowest petrol price among the listed cities at Rs 98.10 per litre. Lucknow and New Delhi also remained relatively cheaper compared to several metro cities, with petrol prices at Rs 102.05 and Rs 102.12 per litre, respectively.

In the case of diesel, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest price at Rs 104.40 per litre. Hyderabad followed with diesel costing Rs 103.82 per litre. Chandigarh had the lowest diesel price among the listed cities at Rs 86.09 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices were recently increased by around Rs 7.5 per litre by the OMCs due to the elevated crude oil prices amid the West Asia crisis. The government increased the export duty on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) in its latest fortnightly review, while keeping the levy on petrol exports unchanged, according to a notification.

For the fortnight commenced June 16, the export duty on diesel was raised to Rs 14 per litre from Rs 13.5 per litre, while the levy on ATF exports was increased to Rs 12.5 per litre from Rs 9.5 per litre. The export duty on petrol remains unchanged at Rs 1.5 per litre.

Domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by Rs 29 with effect from June 07, 2026, the second hike in the last three months. Following the latest LPG price hike, the price of a standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 942 from Rs 913.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices earlier hiked from June 1, with the cost of a 19 kg cylinder in Delhi going up by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50.

CNG prices earlier increased in Mumbai by Rs 2 to Rs 86 per kg. This comes after 15 days of the previous price hike of the same amount. Domestic gas PNG has become costlier by 50 paise to Rs 52 per standard cubit metre (SCM).
