Kolhapur Mehndi Artist Takes First Flight To Mumbai, Clicks Selfie With Fatima Sana Shaikh: ‘She Didn’t Forget Her Roots’

artist from Kolhapur, who recently shared a video about her experience. She captured her excitement of taking her first flight and attending a big event for the first time. The video shows her entire journey, from leaving home to arriving in Mumbai with her husband and child, and enjoying a luxurious stay at a top property.

Sonali’s excitement is clear as she’s seen flaunting her bright smile throughout the clip and also interacts with other creators at the festival.

Mehndi Artist Shares Her First Flight And Event Experience

The video, shared on Instagram, begins with Sonali arriving at the airport with her husband and child, then shows her boarding the plane and checking into a luxury hotel in Mumbai. She takes viewers on a tour of her room and the hotel property. Next, the clip moves to the main event, where she meets several popular celebs and content creators, including Siddharth Batra, Komal Pandey, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ankush Bahuguna, Manish Anand and Jannat Zubair, among others. The video ends with the mehndi artist enjoying the Himesh Reshammiya concert.

In the caption, Sonali wrote, “My first flight experience and my first event experience.”

How Sonali Became The Known Face

Sonali, in a past interview with Her Zindagi, shared how her journey as a mehndi artist began with very little money. She wanted to learn professional mehndi but could not afford to go to classes, so she started practising with block mehndi. While living in Mumbai, she worked near Juhu Beach, where many people visited, including celebrities and tourists, which helped her gain attention for her work. She also learned English by talking to foreign tourists at the beach.

Her husband supported her by buying a mobile phone, which she used to study mehndi designs and practice them on her own hands. In the beginning, she charged just Rs 20 or Rs 50 during festivals. Over time, her skills improved and she began doing bridal mehndi, for which she now charges between Rs 3000 and Rs 5000.
