Fast bowler Harshit Rana and spinner Varun Chakaravarthy are not part of India’s playing XI for the fourth T20I against England at the County Ground in Bristol on Thursday (July 9). India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first before confirming that both Rana and Varun had been ruled out due to injuries. They have been replaced by Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar.

“We’ve got two changes, two injuries actually. Varun and Harshit go out, so Washington and Prasidh comes in,” Shreyas said at the toss.
Prasidh and Washington last featured for India in the first T20I against Ireland in Belfast on June 26.
Shortly after Iyer confirmed that Harshit and Varun were unavailable for the
fourth T20I due to injuries, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official update on X.
The Indian cricket board revealed that both players sustained hamstring injuries during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Following an assessment by the BCCI Medical Team, Harshit and Varun have been ruled out of not only the fourth T20I in Bristol but also the fifth and final match of the series, scheduled to be played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday (July 11).

England have also made one change to their playing XI for the fourth T20I, with spin-bowling all-rounder Rehan Ahmed replacing Liam Dawson.
“Rehan Ahmed comes in for Liam Dawson,” Brook said.
