New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) Rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Tuesday, leading to commuters facing traffic snarls.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast intermittent spells of light to moderate rain, with heavy showers at isolated places.
Between 8.30 am and 11.30 am on Tuesday, Safdarjung and Lodi Road observatories recorded 0.2 mm of rainfall each, while Ridge and Pusa received 0.5 mm each. Ayanagar recorded 0.3 mm, Mayur Vihar 1 mm, and Chhatarpur and Naraina 0.5 mm each. Palam recorded trace rainfall during the period.
Traffic snarls were reported at several stretches, including Kashmere Gate, ITO, Mathura Road, Vikas Marg, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, GT Road and the Delhi-Haridwar Highway. The congestion was attributed
to multiple factors, including rain, traffic restrictions and movement linked to the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.
The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 33 degrees Celsius, with the weather office forecasting light to moderate rain in the city till August 16. PTI SGV SGV RUK RUK
